HISTORY AND STYLES OF ENGLISH SILVER FROM MIDDLE AGES TO ART DECO

Italian version

This is a non commercial site devoted to British silver. All the reported information are free.

Note that the term "English silver" is used to indicate all the items produced in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland during the centuries.

The items displayed in the page MY COLLECTION are not intended for sale. I occasionally sell some of my items (usually on ebay)

Developing a database to support the dating of antic silver

Why this initiative?

I think my passion for antique silver is evident when reading the pages of my site.

Due to its cost, this rinitiative will be possible only with the cooperation of colleagues and, why not, of ordinary people, Institutions and Companies, which can somehow share the objectives of this research.

Aim of the research

The research is aimed at the dating of ancient and antique silvers (mainly English silvers) on the basis of the composition of the alloy used for their manufacture especially in terms of the nature and content of impurities.
